FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Morning Star Technologies and PSI work together
to provide hardware solutions for the PSICable(SM) service
Boston, Mass. - March 8, 1994 -- At a gathering held today at
the Museum of Science, consumer hardware from Morning Star Technologies, Inc.
(MST) of Columbus, OH was introduced to complement the new Cable TV (CATV)
services, PSICable(SM), being introduced by Performance Systems International,
Inc. (PSI).
Morning Star's new hardware product, 'MST Cable Express', will alllow
individual and organizational users of the PSICable(SM) services to access
the global data resources of the Internet with their own computer. The MST
Cable Express will act as a data packet relay building on the successful
MST Express Router product, yet will dovetail smoothly with the new cable
technologies being implemented by PSI.
"Morning Star is a great example of an American business that is
responsive enough to meet the fast-changing industry we're in," said
Martin Schoffstall, PSI's Vice President and Chief Technical Officer.
"The MST Cable Express fits the new cable technology and existing
cable systems well, helping make a smooth set-up of PSICable services a
reality."
"The potential for PSICable and what it means to the future of
global communication is astounding," said David Ford, President of
Morning Star Technologies. "This new technology has turned the
information superhighway of tomorrow into a reality today. We are very
excited to be a part of it!"
This hardware is an essential step in providing practical broadband
access by individuals to the global Internet and National Information
Infrastructure (NII) advanced by the Clinton administration, especially
Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. It is an uncomplicated way to attach
millions of home computers to the current and emerging national information
highway.
